Help? Getting rid of funnel webs?

I just found a large hole in the yard (about 5cm dia) and decided to tease out whatever might be in there. A large black bulbous 8 legged thing jumped out and attacked the stick. There seems to be a few more holes around the yard (now that I'm looking), but not AS big. Is there any way to blitz them? I'm normally an anti-poison person, but I don't want my little ones bitten! If there's one that size will there be more?
