80's Sci-FI Video game movie?

I cant remember the name of this film i watched when i was a kid in the 80's. Basically it was about this boy that went inside a computer (or game) world when he went to sleep at night. Somehow he figures out a way for his friends to join him in this world and i think he either get trapped in there or ends up staying in there at the end. It's definitely not Tron or Lawnmower Man! Anyone got any idea?
