Internet problem with itunes?

Okay so I've been trying to update my ipod, but the message " The iPod software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network is active, or try again later" My internet works fine. I also can't connect to the iTune Store. I ran the Diagnostics and it says my internet connection is verified, but secure link to iTunes store failed. My firewall is off. I have no other sorta of firewall.
